Places to eat and drink

There are plenty of places to eat and drink in Southampton, but we have selected some local spots for food and drink that are favourites of the Archaeology Department here at Southampton to help you along. Please note, however, this is not an extensive list of food and drink venues. Use the key below to find the right venue for your needs.

We have booked out areas in two of our favourite pubs for any delegates that would like to join after the conference each day. The first is the Bookshop Alehouse, where we have use of the basement but there is only a capacity of 30. The second is a five-minute walk from the Bookshop and is called The Guide Dog. Here we have booked out the back room, where the infamous Mac’s Plank is hung in honour of our very own Professor John McNabb.
